re: "derived from the spy novels of John Le Carre" That makes it sound like he coined the term in his books. But reviews seem to indicate that the word was already in use.

I'm not at all sure about the third sense. This seems to me to be a particular application of a mole, not the definition, and the citation does not really support it. SpinningSpark 19:34, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Just to clarify that, third sense of fourth etymology "A structure with a breakwater on one side, and a cargo handling facility on the other" should be deleted as uncited and probably a specific case of sense two. SpinningSpark 10:06, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
