Etymology edit
paint appears as a past participle in Cligès, but of what? My best guess would be *(deprecated template usage) paindre but unless I can find it in a text, it remains unattested. See peindre in Modern French. Mglovesfun (talk) 17:58, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

Paint Horses edit

- Based on the Wikipedia article, there should be entries at Paint and Paint Horse - Wiktionary is case sensitive, and in the context of the horse "Paint" appears to be always capitalised. I'll add them now. Thryduulf (talk) 08:04, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Old slang: to get drunk? edit
Chambers 1908 has an old intransitive verb sense: "to tipple", i.e. get drunk. Anyone able to cite this? It would no doubt need to be glossed dated or archaic! Equinox ◑ 20:16, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
