You mean dana. It does mean to shape, but in the sense of shaping a mind, educating. —Stephen (Talk) 22:00, 16 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

"The appearance of something" edit

doesn't really fit the given example "He cut a square shape out of the cake". You cannot cut an appearance out of a cake. Equinox 19:01, 8 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

He patted the dough into shape edit

What meaning is used in He patted the dough into shape? in(to) shape? --Backinstadiums (talk) 12:53, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Maybe "form/formation". Note that "in shape" is totally different, and means fit and healthy (e.g. "I play sports to stay in shape"). Equinox 15:23, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Another computing sense? edit

Meaning something like system configuration? e.g. "A variety of VM shapes are available, including the new E3. Flex shape, which lets customers specify the precise number of cores (up to 64) and corresponding memory (up to 64 GB per core) to match workload requirements." Possibly specific to Oracle systems; haven't checked. Equinox 19:56, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
