Hide / Show -- when lists get loooooooooooooong edit

@Dine2016 -- I'd like to suggest the addition of a hide / show expansion feature, possibly triggered by list size. See this version of the がん entry, where the {{ja-see-kango}} list is quite long -- long enough to impede page usability. ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 18:22, 14 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Categories -- pages using this shouldn't be listed as lemmata edit

Hello @Dine2016, I just noticed at きやうほ that {{ja-see-kango}} copies over all the categories from the targeted lemma entries -- including Category:Japanese_lemmas. Historical kana entries by definition are not lemmata, only soft redirects to the lemmata at either the kanji or modern kana spellings.

Would it be possible for you to tweak the template's behavior to omit Category:Japanese_lemmas? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 16:59, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Eirikr: According to Wiktionary:Lemmas, "When a word has multiple distinct forms, the lemma is the main entry at which the definitions, etymology, inflections and such are placed." So modern spellings that use {{ja-see}} are not lemmata either, are they? --Dine2016 (talk) 02:26, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Dine2016: Yes, that would be the case.  :) I hadn't noticed that {{ja-see}} also copies over Category:Japanese_lemmas. Changing that behavior as well would be ideal. Thank you! ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 17:22, 14 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
