nodot edit

Could someone make this template accept "nodot=1" as dot-suppression, like the other templates do? - -sche (discuss) 03:32, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

It's done. You can also suppress the dot by specifying an empty value on dot=. JamesjiaoTC 03:49, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! And: right, but I figure it's desirable to have all the templates (also) accept the same parameter(s), rather than some taking "nodot=1" and others taking only "dot=". - -sche (discuss) 04:06, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

lang edit

Could use more than one, so that can easily add Chinese + (Kor/Jap/Viet) surnames without needing to write out separate cats.116.231.243.0 12:22, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Parameter edit

@Surjection, could you add the |xlit2= ... n parameter (as in {{given name}}) to this template? Thanks. ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 12:14, 11 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I tried. I don't know if it works, but at least it seems it's not working perfectly, as the links end up looking different with xlit2 than without it. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 14:30, 11 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Gender edit

There are languages with male, female and common gender surnames (like Greek), like Template:given name. Unlike English which has only common gender (default), unless they are foreign (Pavlova). Thank you. ‑‑Sarri.greek  I 16:00, 18 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
