Dutch edit

Etymology edit

First attested as wolprandeskerke in 1328. Originally derived from a compound of Old Frisian Wolprand (a personal name) and tzercka (church). The toponym was later renamed to a compound of ūt (out-, outer), an otherwise unknown toponym *Wallinge and (village, village area). The Dutch form of the toponym was borrowed from an earlier version of the Frisian name.
