- Could we find a less vulgar citation? I have no problem with Wiktionary listing vulgarities, but I don't think they should appear in the example sentences for other entries. EvanKroske 05:07, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
- We could, but we would still not delete data from Wiktionary. We would keep this quote in Wiktionary, even if another is found. - I understand that Wiktionary doesn't censor its listings, but I don't understand why that quote can't be replaced if a more illustrative quote is found. If every new demonstrating quote is simply added to the stack, the list of demonstrations would keep growing far beyond its usefulness. If no new demonstrations are allowed after a certain point, the entry's early edits will arbitrarily have more weight than later edits. There must be a procedure for replacing inferior demonstrating quotes with superior ones.
