This is a technical term used by professional etymologists to describe a real phenomenon. How else would you describe a change that occurs due a mistaken belief of speakers about the origins of a word or phrase? Whether it was right or wrong, it happened, so an etymology needs to mention it. Chuck Entz (talk) 14:38, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
