Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome!

Slang edit

You can use {{slang}} to add a "slang" label and, at the same time, add the entry to the slang category. SemperBlotto 08:10, 19 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

If a word has a slang and non-slang meaning, you can use the label on the slang usage - see what I have done to shakedown. (by the way, try not to copy definitions or examples from copyright online or paper dictionaries word-for-word) Cheers SemperBlotto 08:22, 19 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

jacket edit

That jacket can mean police record is new to me. If it's slang, please tag it as such. Ncik 00:47, 21 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Formatting edit

Some of those links at the top of your talk page show you how to format entries. Tonight's entries don't even have a language header. SemperBlotto 21:13, 19 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
