Nomination: I hereby nominate Type56op9 (talk • contribs) as a local English Wiktionary Administrator. You all know I'm Wonderfool, and if you don't then Hi! Recently, I've been wanting to edit lots of templates, but to my frustration many of them are protected, and I figure the best way to deal with that is to just get myself admin powers again (it'll be the sixth admin account I've had, by the way - others can be found at Wiktionary:Administrators/Former). So you know, with my previous accounts I deleted the main page. However, perhaps some of you can ignore that fact (it's ancient history, over five years ago!). I'm curious what people who come to the site see when the main page has been deleted — do they see the same "this page has been deleted" message as at e.g. Appendix:Proto-Arawakan/ohki? Still, Oppose. Incidentally, over on Wikipedia, they have a second type of protection which is applied only to templates (and modules?), and a user group that can edit those templates (w:WP:Template editors) without being able to do things like delete pages and block an unblock users. I'm not convinced we need such a user group here; I'm just mentioning it. (We don't have so many templates or modules and we don't make so many edits to them that it's inconvenient for non-admins to have to ask admins, and crucially we don't have that many non-admins who possess both the need and the tech skills to edit templates and modules.) - -sche(discuss)18:30, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
