  1. (phonetics, of words, linguistic expressions, etc.) Capable of being pronounced or expressed distinctly in speech.
    • 1796, P. W. Fogg, Elementa Anglicana, volume 2, page 159:
      It is beyond a doubt that many sounds are articulable, which do not occur in English.
  2. (of ideas, thoughts, etc.) Capable of being expressed clearly in language.
