Usage notes

• This phrase is primarily associated with the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, Tết Nguyên Đán, but in context can also refer to the New Year in the Western Gregorian calendar. The more verbose chúc mừng năm mới dương lịch or chúc mừng Tết tây are sometimes used for the latter.
