In this study, the presence of citrullinated proteins and fragments thereof in the synovial fluid (SF) of patients with RA was investigated by Western blotting and mass spectrometry (MS). This approach yielded an inventory of citrullinated proteins (citrullinome) in the inflamed joints of patients with RA.
