Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *dakna̅, from Proto-Indo-European *denḱ- 'to bite'. Cognate to Ancient Greek δάκνω (“to bite”) and Old High German zanga (“tongs”). Gegh formation danë with secondarily rhotacized nasal[1].
