Etymology edit

Morphologically hassa- +‎ -lla (adessive singular) with a possessive suffix. The common meaning in this word and other words using the same root hassa-, like hassata (to waste, squander) and hassu (funny, silly), is "soft, fragile; messy, splaying".[1] Possibly ultimately of sound-symbolic origin.
