    • 1912, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tarzan of the Apes:
      As he passed through the opening, the front sight of the rifle caught upon the edge of the inswung door with sufficient force to close it tightly after the fleeing ape.
    • 1922, Nursing World: Volumes 68-69:
      The straight and inswung feet are the most prevalent types, and no difficulty should be found in procuring shoes of either type.
