ionic product (plural ionic products)

  1. (chemistry) The product of the concentrations of ions, each raised to the power specified by its stoichiometric coefficient in a solution of a salt.

      A solution is saturated when ionic product is equal to the solubility product. A solution is unsaturated when ionic product is less then the solubility product. A solution is super saturated, when ionic product exceeds the solubility product.
