From krit (“chalk”) + pipe. Semantic shift (chalk -> ceramic) of uncertain origin.

kritpipe f (definite singular kritpipa, indefinite plural kritpiper, definite plural kritpipene)
- (smoking) a tobacco pipe made of soft ceramic. Used mostly in older days. Usually, the longer pipes were used by men, and the shorter ones - by women.
