From Old Norse mœðgur f pl (“mother and daughter”). Compare with fegge m (“a father or son in relation to the other”), from Old Norse feðgar m pl (“father and son”).

- (vulgar, offensive, derogatory) a disagreeable, despicable, aggressive person, chiefly a woman; bitch
- (colloquial) a big female animal
Usage notes edit
- The English term bitch could often be an appropriate translation of this term, except that megge term doesn't carry any sense of sexual promiscuity.
