Particularly: “Considered native Hmongic by Ratliff, though no reconstructed proto-form is given.[1] Closest lemmas in the area phonetically are Khmer ឃ្មុំ (khmum, bee) and Middle Chinese (MC mjit, “honey”), and these don't seem to be likely cognate.”
