Ipse idem Mengotius locutus fuit eum dicto conestabili de anno et de mense presentibus extra arcam qua itur ad Sanctam Mariam in monte per hunc modum videlicet: "Quid facis tu et quomodo stas tu"? Et ipse respondit: "Ego bene facio". Et tunc ipse Mengotius dixit: "Quomodo stas tu"? "Bene, quod tu non habes nisi XXII socios ad banderiam tuam et Guiotus de Laxoza habet XXXV socios. Quid diceres tu si ego ita facerem quod esses dives"? Et ipse respondit: "quomodo possis tu facere"?
Mengotius himself had spoken by word to the constable about the present year and month outside of the arch that goes to Saint Mary upon the mount clearly through this way: "How do you do and how are you?" And he answered: "I am doing well". And then Mengotius said: "How are you"? "Well, because you do not even have twenty two allies at your banner and Guiotus de Laxoza has thirty five allies. What would you say if I were to make you rich"? And he replied: "how would you be able to do that"?
