From Latin sic pro (“[written] as such in place of”).
Phrase edit
- (uncommon) Used to note an error in text as quoted and to supply the supposed intended meaning

Usage notes edit
Similar to sic, sic pro is typically left italicized and it and the following words set off within brackets.
