Etymology edit
Borrowed from Classical Persian سوء قصد (sū'-i qasd). Izāfa of سوء (sū'-i, “mis-”) + قصد (qasd, “intention”), literally “misintention”. Cognate with Turkish suikast.
By surface analysis, sui- + qəsd.
