Internationalism, borrowed from Dutch volontair, volontaire, from French volontaire, from Middle French voluntaire, from late Old French voluntaire, borrowed from Latin voluntārius (voluntary; volunteer), from voluntās (free will), from volō, velle (wish, intend).[1]
