Usage notes

edit
  • This is a kinship term, and so cannot occur without a possessor. The exception to this is if the speaker is addressing their own father.
  • The term is used to describe both one's birth father, and a male in one's father's clan who are in the same generation as one's birth father as an expression of personal closeness.
