Đình Bảng
Vietnamese
editEtymology
editMechanical Sino-Vietnamese reading of the Vietnamese phrase 亭榜 (đình Báng, “Báng village shrine”), located in the historical Báng village (Kẻ Báng), whose name derived from the word for sugar palm (Arenga pinnata).
Said shrine is now formally called đình Đình Bảng, with the first two elements both being đình (“village shrine”).
