Ancient Greek edit

Pronunciation edit

Usage notes edit

Both the scansion and the accentuation prove that εω at the end of this word form a diphthong. The accentuation would be *Τῡδεϊδέω (Tūdeïdéō) if the last two vowels were in separate syllables. The Homeric pronunciation is thus something like /tuː.de.í.deo̯/.

Proper noun edit

Τῡδεΐδεω (Tūdeḯdeō)

  1. (Epic) genitive singular of Τυδεΐδης (Tudeḯdēs)
