полуотметность
Russian
editEtymology
editBorrowed from Bulgarian отметност (otmetnost).
Pronunciation
editNoun
editполуотме́тность • (poluotmétnostʹ) f inan (genitive полуотме́тности, nominative plural полуотме́тности, genitive plural полуотме́тностей)
- (Slavic accentology) semi-retractivity. Clarification: This stress is called “semi-retractivity” because it was assumed the leftward shift of the stress in the prefixed forms of the l-participle and aorist from the verbs of the Proto-Slavic accent paradigm b. In fact, the Proto-Slavic semi-retractivity is a consequence of the phonological prohibition on the rightward shift of stress from dominant roots to recessive suffixes in wordforms in which the stressed syllable was not the initial one.
