אָסַף • (asáf) third-singular masculine past (pa'al construction, passive counterpart נֶאֱסַף)

(transitive) To gather, to collect: to bring a group of things together.
הילדים אספו את כל המשחקים והחזירו אותם לתוך התיבה.
hay'ladím as'fú ét kól-hamiskhakím v'hekhzíru otám l'tókh hateivá.
The children gathered all the games and put them back in the box.
(transitive) To take, to gather to oneself.
הוא אסף אותה בזרועותיו.
hú asáf otá biz'ro'otáv.
He took her in his arms.
(transitive) To pick up, to collect: to meet someone, and drive or lead them away.
באיזו שעה אתם אוספים אותו?
b'éizo sha'á atém os'fím otó?
At what time are you supposed to pick him up?
(transitive) To collect, to accumulate a collection of.
נערים רבים נהנים לאסוף בולי דואר.
n'arím rabím nehením le'esóf buléi-dó'ar.
Many young people enjoy collecting postage stamps.
