- (informal) To adopt Ashkenazi mannerisms, especially for the purpose of improving one's apparent socioeconomic status.
- 1998, Aryé Dayán, Hama'ayán hamitgabér: sipurá shel tnu'át Shas, page 118:
- כאשר סיים את לימודיו במדרשייה, ב-1957, היה אפשר לומר ש״השתכנז לחלוטין״.
- When he finished his studies at the college, in 1957, it was possible to say that he "had ashkenazified completely".
