הִתְנַצֵּל • (hitnatsél) (hitpa'el construction)

1. to apologize
2. (biblical, outdated) to strip, to take off from oneself.
   • Tanach, Exodus 33:6, with translation of the American Standard Version:

     :וַיִּתְנַצְּלוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת עֶדְיָם מֵהַר חוֹרֵב

     wayyit̲naṣṣəlû b̲ənê yiśrāʾēl ʾet̲ ʿed̲yām mēhar ḥôrēb̲
     vayitnats'lú v'néi yisra'él et edyám mehár khorév

     And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments from mount Horeb onward.
