וְהָיוּ (v'hayú)

  1. Third-person plural vav-consecutive perfect (hence future tense) of הָיָה (hayá).
    • Tanach, Exodus 4:9, with Young's Literal Translation:
      וְהָיוּ הַמַּיִם אֲשֶׁר תִּקַּח מִן הַיְאֹר וְהָיוּ לְדָם בַּיַּבָּשֶׁת
      v'hayú hamáyim ashér tikách mín hay'ór v'hayú l'dám bayabáshet
      and the waters which thou takest from the River have been, yea, they have become -- blood on the dry land`
