  1. Third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of הִכָּה (hiká).
    • Exodus 2:12, with translation of the King James Version:
      וַיַּךְ אֶת הַמִּצְרִי וַיִּטְמְנֵהוּ בַּחוֹל
      vayách et hamitsrí vayitm'néhu bachól
      he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand
