Etymology edit
Noun edit
חלווה / חַלְוָה • (khalvá) f (singular construct חלוות / חַלְוַת־)
- halva (confection).
Usage notes edit
- The Hebrew root ח־ל־ב forms words connected to חָלָב (khaláv, “milk”). Since halva is usually made without milk, the Academy of the Hebrew Language recommends the spelling חַלְוָה. [1]
