- Tanach, Deuteronomy 23:26, with translation of the New International Version:
- כִּי תָבֹא בְּקָמַת רֵעֶךָ, וְקָטַפְתָּ מְלִילֹת בְּיָדֶךָ; וְחֶרְמֵשׁ לֹא תָנִיף עַל קָמַת רֵעֶךָ.
- Ki tavó bəqamát re'écha, vəqatáfta məlilót bəyadécha; vəḥerméš lo taníf 'al qamát re'écha.
- If you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pick kernels with your hands, but you must not put a sickle to their standing grain.
