Etymology edit

Borrowed from Portuguese bomba, from Italian bomba, from Latin bombus (a booming sound), from Ancient Greek βόμβος (bómbos, booming, humming, buzzing). Compare Hindi बंबा (bambā) and Gujarati બંબો (bambo).
