Etymology edit

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘥𑘰𑘽𑘚𑘜𑘹 (bhāṃḍaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀪𑀁𑀟𑀇 (bhaṃḍaï), from Sanskrit भण्डते (bhaṇḍate). Cognate with Gujarati ભાંડવું (bhā̃ḍvũ), Sindhi ڀَنَڻُ / भनणु, Punjabi ਭੰਡਣਾ (bhaṇḍṇā) / بھنڈݨا (bhnḍṇā).
