Etymology edit

From a passive derivative of Sanskrit रच् (rac) (attested as रचयति (racayati, to fashion)). Compare Hindustani رَچْنَا (racnā) / रचना (racnā), Punjabi ਰਚਣਾ (racṇā) / رَچݨا (racṇā), Sindhi رَچَڻُ / रचणु, Gujarati રચવું (racvũ), Marathi रचणे (racṇe).
