Inherited from Sanskrit सृत्त (sṛtta) Inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀲𑀝𑁆𑀝𑁆 (*saṭṭ). Cognate with Konkani सटकप (saṭkap), Gujarati સટકવું (saṭakvũ), Hindi सटकना (saṭaknā).
