    • 800 BCE – 600 BCE, Homer, Odyssey 4.448–449:
      αἱ μὲν ἔπειτα
      ἑξῆς εὐνάζοντο παρὰ ῥηγμῖνι θαλάσσης
      hai mèn épeita
      hexês eunázonto parà rhēgmîni thalássēs
      then they went to sleep one after another near the surf of the sea
    • 800 BCE – 600 BCE, Homer, Iliad 6.241:
      ὃ δ’ ἔπειτα θεοῖς εὔχεσθαι ἀνώγει
      πάσας ἑξείης
      hò d’ épeita theoîs eúkhesthai anṓgei
      pásas hexeíēs
      then he bade all of them to pray to the gods in turn
