Middle Korean edit

Pronunciation edit

IPA(key): /kɨmtsɨk/

Ideophone edit

금즉 (kumcuk)

  1. Alternative form of ᄀᆞᆷᄌᆞᆨ (komcok), yin-vowel equivalent

Usage notes edit

There was probably a nuanced difference in meaning between 금즉 (Yale: kumcuk) and ᄀᆞᆷᄌᆞᆨ (Yale: komcok), given the semantic contrasts apparent in their Modern Korean reflexes. However, 금즉 (Yale: kumcuk) is attested only once in the surviving Middle Korean corpus, so this cannot be said for sure.
