Etymology edit

Leetspeak form of 신기(神奇)하다 (sin'gihada, to be strange; to be wondrous). Such style of replacement(replacing the syllable (gi) with (bak)) has been originated around 2010 from the Internet forum DC Inside, and has become an Internet meme. The word has since become widely popular and has appeared in mainstream print media since at least 2014.
