직박구리
Korean edit
Etymology edit
Perhaps onomatopoeic. Compare 지빠귀 (jippagwi, “thrush”).
Internet slang etymology |
---|
In the Korean file archiver ALZip, newly created files are by default named after random birds, a pun on the fact that the word 새 (sae) means both "new" and "bird". 직박구리 (jikbakguri) is one of the birds that can appear. The name of the bird is incidentally similar to 빠구리 (ppaguri, “(vulgar) sex”), hence the slang. |
Pronunciation edit
- (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [t͡ɕik̚p͈a̠k̚k͈uɾi]
- Phonetic hangul: [직빡꾸리]
