Etymology edit

Literally "dwellers of the mountain-land",^[1] from *Ākaufaka- + *-(i)ya- (adjectival suffix). *Ākaufaka- itself is composed of *ā- (“to”) + *kaufa- (“mountain”) + *-ka- (hypocoristic suffix).
