1. Forms the admonitive mood, expressing a warning: watch out in case…, be careful lest….

Usage notes

This suffix can be used with all persons. In the third person a verb with this suffix takes series II markers, in all other persons series I. When the patient/object of the (transitive) verb is third-person, it must also take the prefix ön- (or one of its allomorphs) after the person marker.
