Inherited from Middle Odia -ମାନ (-māna), -ମାଣ (-māṇa), from Prakrit 𑀫𑀸𑀡𑀯 (māṇava, “man”), from Sanskrit मानव (mānava); adopting the word for “man” as a plural affix.[1]
