- Adjectival suffix meaning wanting to have or wanting to do what is denoted by the first element.
Usage notes
editThe first element is commonly the infinitive of a verb, shorn of its final ṃ, which is considered to be the accusative case ending. The compounds with infinitives are reckoned as dative tatpurushas. These adjectives are commonly used as nouns.
