From Old Galician-Portuguese Eldara, Aldoara, from local Medieval Latin Hilduara, Ilduara,[1] from a Suevic [Term?] or Gothic personal name, from Proto-Germanic *Hildiwarō, from *hildiz (fight) and a derivative of *warōną (to watch, to protect).[2]
