Etymology edit

From local Late Latin Engomiri, genitive of Engomirus, from a Suevic or Gothic personal name, from Proto-Germanic *Ingumēraz, a compound of *Ingwaz, a god, and *mēraz (great; famous). Compare Swedish Ingemar and Faroese Ingmar.[1]
