bitzer - a mongrel dog (bits of this and bits of that)
blowie - a common blow fly
bluey - a bluebottle

bunyip - a mythical outback creature
chook – a chicken, as in chook raffle, also used in New Zealand English
cleanskin - cattle that have not been branded, earmarked or castrated
cockie - a cockatoo

croc – a crocodile
dish-licker – a dog, often for greyhounds
dunny budgie - a blowfly
joey - a baby kangaroo
jumbuck - a sheep
kelpie - an Australian sheepdog originally bred from Scottish collie
mob - a family or herd (?) of kangaroos
mozzie or mozzy – a mosquito
muddy - a mud crab (a great delicacy)
roo - a kangaroo
yabby - a small inland freshwater crayfish found in Australia (Cherax destructor) (from Wembawemba)
